The Municipality of Silves and groups of scouts from the council's National Scouts Corps will plant 1500 strawberry trees and cork oaks on the São Bom Homem estate, owned by the municipality, on Saturday morning.

This reforestation action will serve to «mitigate forest area losses resulting from last summer's fires» and «complement what was already developed last October in the “Montanha Verde” operation, carried out in the former Silves dump, with support of Zoomarine», revealed the municipality of Silvense.

The Algarve theme and water park will also contribute to Saturday's initiative, by providing the trees that will be planted and publicizing the event.

In the action itself, in addition to volunteers from the Silves scouts, the Municipal Civil Protection Services and Forestry sappers, the Machinery and Vehicles Unit (namely in land preparation), the Education sector and the Gardens sector (in the logistical support).
