The construction of a new support unit for the elderly in Loulé is the challenge that the new governing bodies of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Loulé, which took office on January 3, intend to implement in this mandate, which runs until 11.

«We have a home, but the truth is that the home cannot respond to the volume of registrations that we have», said provider Manuel Filipe Semião, who assumes the leadership of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Loulé for the sixth consecutive time.

The municipal executive of Loulé, who was present at the inauguration ceremony, heard some concerns from the management.

«Effectively we, Misericórdia, have no land and if it is not the City Council to give us up, we will have a lot of difficulty», revealed the provider.

During this mandate, the direction intends to continue to guarantee good service provision in the various areas where it is committed, such as the home, day care and home care services.

“What we want is to respond to needs. The role of Mercy is to respond to the needs of the community. That's what we're here for. That's what we work for», added Manuel Filipe Semião.

One of the topics covered is related to the Hospital de Loulé. «We invested a lot of money there, we had many problems to solve, but today it is really a very positive reality because it is providing an extraordinary service to the population of Loulé», concluded the provider.
