The Algarve will showcase the best it has to offer in the area of ​​nature tourism and promote the region's gastronomy in the 2017 edition of FITUR, which takes place in Madrid from 18 to 22 January.

The Algarve region will share a stand with the regions of Porto and North of Portugal, and will promote the action «¡Algarve Te Invita!», where cycling and hiking will occupy a prominent place, but which will also promote other tourist attractions and give the opportunity to taste, in showcookings and wine tasting, regional delicacies.

In 2017, the Algarve Tourism Region will invest heavily in promoting of the «Cycling & Walking» program, which runs together with other entities, «a project specially designed for cycling and hiking lovers, which aims to introduce new services and innovative proposals for travelers who choose the south of Portugal as a nature destination», according to the RTA.

On the other hand, the next edition of the Algarve Nature Week will be promoted, which will take place between the 5th and the 14th of May at Quatro Águas, in Tavira, where «for ten days, it will be possible to enjoy the most active and sustainable Algarve, through a wide range of activities. from nature activities at attractive prices, from horseback riding to whale watching, from surfing to diving baptisms, from visits to caves to walks among the vineyards».

Another dimension that will be heavily explored is the region's gastronomy and wines. The planned cooking demonstrations and wine tastings, organized by Tertúlia Algarvia, will be one of the ways to liven up the Algarve space at FITUR and are aimed at professionals, operators, entities and the general public. The stand was also designed to promote business, as it will have meeting tables «for the trade in the Algarve to promote contacts with tour operators».

The Algarve University, AMAL – Algarve Intermunicipal Community, the «365 Algarve» cultural program, the Algarve Wine Route, the Mediterranean Diet project and the Algarve Nature Week will also be present in the area dedicated to the Algarve. .

The action «¡Algarve Te Invita!» takes place within the scope of the application financed by the CRESC Algarve 2020 Operational Program «Internationalization of the Algarve tourist destination in Spain».
