«Algarlinha» will become the name, as of January 2, of the free service for the selective collection of packaging waste, door to door, for small businesses, restaurants and services, which was previously called «Ambilinha», and covers the entire Algarve.

The procedures and methodology for collecting packaging waste works with the delivery, by the future “Algarlinha”, of bags and signs for the disposal of recyclable packaging waste, glass, plastic/metal and paper/cardboard.

«All the material collected in the scope of the service provided must be separated and clean from contaminants. The packages, whenever possible, should be drained and/or flattened before being placed in the bags (green, yellow and blue, respectively)», explains Algar, which is responsible for this service.

The filled and closed bags are collected. “Algarlinha” will then replace more empty bags in exchange for those collected.

The opening hours for inquiries are on weekdays from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 13:00 pm and from 14:00 pm to 18:00 pm. For this purpose, the following contacts may be used: Green line: 800 915 331 or o e-mail [email protected].
