The Museum of Faro will host, starting in March, an exhibition of works by the Portuguese plastic artist Jose Pedro Croft, who will be the national representative at the Venice Biennale, in May next, revealed first-hand to the Sul informação Ana Pinho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fundação de Serralves.

This show will join works from the Serralves estate and arrives in the Algarve capital following the recent accession of the Chamber of Faro to the Council of Founders of this cultural institution.

«This is an exhibition that I believe will attract a lot of Portuguese and foreign audiences, as he is a well-known artist, also outside Portugal, and because he will represent Portugal at the Venice Biennale, the most important contemporary art event in the world» , framed Ana Pinho.

This will be the second of several shows that Serralves will bring to Faro, the first of which, entitled «The Return of the Object: Art of the 1980s», was inaugurated on Wednesday, as part of the «365 Algarve» programme.

The partnership established between Faro and Serralves aims to provide the Algarve with easier access to the Foundation's vast assets, in what is one of the institution's main missions. By joining the Board of Founders, Faro it becomes a crossing point for initiatives bearing the Serralves seal and important exhibitions, such as that of José Pedro Croft.
