enmc_socialmediadefaultshareThe arrival of Filipe Meirinho, former regional director of ASAE in the Algarve, as president of the National Entity for the Fuel Market, last Monday, will have speeded up the cancellation of contracts with Portfuel and the Repsol/Partex consortium, found the Sul Informação.

Filipe Meirinho was appointed to replace Paulo Carmona in the position, last Wednesday, in the Council of Ministers, having taken office just three days ago.

Contacted by Sul Informação, Filipe Meirinho confirmed the cancellation of the contracts and assumed that the issue «had my intervention, obviously».

The new official said, however, that the ENMC's objective is “to fulfill what the tutelage establishes, according to the office of the Secretary of State” for Energy, from which the decision originated.

Filipe Meirinho sent further explanations about the process to the Ministry of Economy.

Filipe Meirinho was regional director of ASAE in the Algarve, between 2008 and 2012, and, before assuming the position of chairman of the Board of Directors of ENMC, he was director of the same entity for the area of petroleum products.
