Five injured, one of which in serious condition, resulted from an accident that involved four light vehicles, including two ambulances, and one heavy in the IC27, which occurred this Monday, around 12:00, in the Azinhal area, in the municipality of Castro Marim.
The accident forced traffic to be cut in both directions, to remove the damaged vehicles and clean the lane.
According to the District Relief Operations Center, at 12:06 pm, the alert was given for an accident that involved four light vehicles and one heavy vehicle. "Two of the vehicles were ambulances, one from the Red Cross and the other from the Alcoutim Fire Department," according to the CDOS.
Taking into account the number of vehicles involved, 45 operatives from different forces and several vehicles were sent to the site, including an air vehicle from the National Civil Protection Authority. The seriously injured person was evacuated by helicopter to the Hospital de Faro.
Firefighters, INEM, GNR and ANPC were dispatched to the location of the accident.
