The seminar «Knowing the Science of Lagoa dos Salgados», which aims to bring science closer to citizens, will be held on the 26th of November, from 14 pm to 00 pm, at the Albufeira Municipal Library.
The objective of this session is «to make known the results of some scientific works that have been developed in Lagoa dos Salgados, on its biodiversity and conservation», explains the Portuguese Society for the Study of Birds (SPEA), which organizes this seminar.
After the reception of the participants, there will be, at 14 pm, the first panel with the presentation of the project «Citizenship through Nature», in charge of Alexandra Lopes, from SPEA, followed, at 30 pm, by the session «Natural Heritage of Lagoa dos Salgados, species , ecosystems and landscape”, by Jacinta Fernandes, from the University of Algarve.
At 15 pm, it will be Ana Gomes' turn, also from the University of Algarve, to present «Estuarin diatoms and their role in enhancing the natural heritage and ecosystem services».
The issue of «Lagoa dos Salgados Management, Recent Evolution» will be on the table at 15:30, with Paulo Cruz, from the Portuguese Environment Agency, presenting the theme. At 15:50, Domingos Leitão, from SPEA, will speak on the topic “Lagoa dos Salgados, an important area for birds”.
Finally, at 16:15 pm, there will be space for debate, closing the session at 17:00 pm.
