The 2016 Rally Casinos do Algarve will take place on Saturday and Sunday on roads in the municipalities of Portimão, Monchique and Lagos.
This year, the Algarve race, in addition to counting for the National Championship, will integrate the European Rally Cup, through the Iberian trophy, and will have as one of the highlights a nighttime Super Special, to be played in Lagos, on Saturday.
The next edition of this rally is also marked by the return of the competition to the Serra de Monchique sections, something that will happen, moreover, on the first day of the race.
After the official start, scheduled for 14 pm on Saturday, at Passeio Ribeirinho de Portimão – where the base of the rally will be located -, the drivers will have to overcome four Special Races, passing twice in the section «Chilrão» (00 kilometers) and as many on the «Alferce» route (14,9 km).
The Super Especial, with a length of 1,5 km, is scheduled for 21:00 on 12 November, in the city of Lagos, in the area next to the Paços do Concelho.
On Sunday, the machines hit the road at 10 am, to make two passes through the sections “Monchique” (9,9 km) and “Fóia” (20 km). The podium ceremony is scheduled for 13:00 on November 13, at the Hotel Algarve Casino, in Praia da Rocha.
