The band from Olhão, IRIS, will take the stage of the Municipal Auditorium of Olhão to present the show «IRIS – Baladas» on the 26th of November, at 21 pm.
This band was born in July 1979, in Fuzeta, when a group of four boys decided to get together and create a group, whose main objective was to make and play good music.
«Like so many other groups that were proliferating throughout the region at the time, they immediately started performing at balls and parties all over the Algarve», explains the Câmara de Olhão.
In 1995, after 16 years of existence, the first album of originals was recorded – «Vão Dar Banhó Cão» - , which included the track that catapulted the band to the tops of sales and playlists from the radio stations all over the country: «Oh, Mother!».
In 2007 IRIS became the first Portuguese rock band to stage a show with an orchestra and record a CD e DVD of the show, reaching 40 thousand people.
From 1995 to the present, they have released an average of one album every two years, the most recent being, the eighth, By chanceOf 2015.
The IRIS are composed by Domingos Caetano, Carlos Guerreiro, Gustavo Gonçalves, Alexandre Ponte and Marinho Pires and has «always been cherished by the public from Olhão», refers the Câmara de Olhão.
