After Black Friday, last Friday, Loulé will have a «White Friday», on December 2nd, from 19pm to 00pm, in which «store prices will fall like snow».
The city center “will be covered in white”, with artificial snow, while the local shops will have discounts.
In addition to the street entertainment and decoration of the windows, «a solidarity event is planned, the Christmas Sweater Meeting, by the participating bars and cafes, where friends, family or companies will get together to celebrate a more solidary Christmas».
In this sense, the City Council of Loulé challenges people to "go out into the street dressed as Christmas in body, with traditional Christmas sweaters or other ornaments", as well as "toys, clothes or food to put in the boxes that will be in some cafes and bars in the city». These donations will be delivered to Existir, UNIR and the Welcome Center «Os Miúdos».
However, this past weekend, the Christmas entertainment program has already started in the county, with the arrival of Father Christmas in the cities of Loulé and Quarteira and in the town of Almancil, and the inauguration of the lighting that will decorate the towns during this season. festive.
In Loulé, «many children wanted to see up close the white-bearded old man who arrived at a Christmas parade, in a parade of various clubs, with the Bikes from the BTT Club, the motorcycles from the Clube Rodas do Relógio or the horses from the Center Equestrian joining the sled pulled by dogs, the elves and all the beings from the enchanted world of Christmas who accompanied Santa Claus», says the Loulé local authority.
Moments before Santa Claus distributed the long-awaited gifts to the children, there was a musical moment in which more than fifty children's voices sang Christmas songs.
Vítor Aleixo, Mayor of Loulé, wished everyone a Merry Christmas, underlining the solidarity and fraternity of this festive season.
Next Friday, December 2, at 10:00 am, the «Aldeia dos Sonhos» will be inaugurated, with a school parade that will integrate around 3000 students from the Loulé school clusters.
Dressed in Christmas colors, the children will have the opportunity to visit all the spaces in this village and exchange a few words with Santa Claus who will welcome them to his home.
From this day until December 30, “Aldeia dos Sonhos” will animate the city, this year with new spaces and activities.
«The intention is to recreate the village of Father Christmas, with themed decoration, the Father Christmas house, the Largo dos Elves, an ice rink, a mini ferris wheel, traditional toys, snowmen, a wooden carousel, inflatables, paintings facials, gastronomy alluding to the court, like a sweets square, and all the warm atmosphere associated with this festivity», says Câmara de Loulé.
This year, in addition to the Cerca do Convento and Cloisters, the «Aldeia dos Sonhos» also extends to the Alcaidaria do Castelo, Praça D. Afonso III and Largo de São Francisco.
This «Aldeia dos Sonhos» will have theater shows, «Horas do Conto» and even a concert by Avô Cantigas, on the 3rd, at 16 pm.
The «Aldeia dos Sonhos» will be open from Sunday to Friday, from 14:30 pm to 19:30 pm, including December 25th, and on Saturdays, from 10:30 am to 19:30 pm. Admission is free.
