According to the Portimão Chamber, this is "one of the highest and most significant distinctions awarded by this entity", and at the gala "the Portuguese Firefighters League publicly recognized Isilda Gomes with the aforementioned distinction, praising her availability and support for firefighters" .

According to the reasons that supported this award, the Mayor is distinguished “for the practice of relevant acts and services of unquestionable contribution to the dignification of the cause of Firefighters, in the various political decision-making positions that she has been playing over the last few years. Her political action in close liaison with the Fire Department has contributed, at various times, in a decisive manner, to the growth of the Portuguese Fire Department, especially in the Algarve region, as Civil Governor and, now, in particular to the Fire Department. of Portimão, as President of the City Council».

According to the League of Firefighters, Isilda Gomes "was distinguished in the region for her esteem and determination in valuing Firefighters, in the feasibility of various projects at a regional level with a view to financing and re-equipping the Fire Department and the development of actions for valorization and requalification in this area».

As Municipal Civil Protection Authority, according to the autarchy, “the efforts that Isilda Gomes developed were highlighted, having established a framework of cooperation with the Firefighters of Portimão, based on program-contracts that aim to fill the funding gap, either for the development of the activity and functioning of the Fire Department, as well as to advocate an annual Re-equipment plan suited to the reality of existing means and resources and to the operational demand characteristic of an international tourist destination».

According to the Portimão Chamber, «the attribution of the “Golden Badge” is not frequent, occurring only in cases of proven relevance».
