The Fundação Real Madrid Sports School, in Vila Real de Santo António, held, on 12 November, the first meeting of the new sporting season in which it incorporated new elements and delivered new equipment. This Foundation supports more than a hundred children in VRSA, in football and basketball.
Aiming at the integration of at-risk young people, aged 6 to 13, with learning difficulties or in environments where it is not possible to practice sports, the institution has developed an educational program in partnership with school groups and the local authority. of VRSA, being considered by the Madrid club as an “example of excellence”.
According to Conceição Cabrita, vice-president of the Vila Real de Santo António City Council, «more than a school, this foundation of the Real Madrid Foundation has been a reference in the life path of almost a thousand young people, transmitting to them values of team and solidarity and avoiding situations of exclusion”.
The methodologies used aim to reward merit and take into account factors such as school grades, behavior, as well as the attendance of students who attend the foundation's activities or are flagged by partner entities.
In order to promote the integration of children, many have joined other local clubs and participated in the regional championships of the respective sports.
To guarantee the good performance of the school, the technicians responsible for the project regularly develop training actions and monitor the results, which are periodically sent to the Foundation's headquarters.
Last July, the Real Madrid Foundation organized, between the 3rd and 5th of July, in Vila Real de Santo António, the "Copa Alma", a football tournament that brought together the most outstanding European teams and schools. of social and sporting integration promoted by the Madrid emblem.
