The 7th Christmas decoration competition, aimed at all commercial establishments in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, will be held from December 1st to December 31st, but registration ends next week, on November 11th.
Member establishments must display the decoration alluding to the theme "Christmas Square", which must be properly lit at night. This competition aims to «energize the county's commerce, investing in the promotion of local establishments», says the Vila do Bispo Chamber.
The evaluation criteria will be: originality and creativity, harmony and aesthetics of the set, use of its own materials and attractive lighting and showcase.
The evaluation and classification of the establishments in the competition will be in charge of a jury that will be composed of a representative of the Vila do Bispo Council, a representative of ACRAL (Association of Commerce and Services of the Algarve Region) and a teacher of the EB 2,3 School, XNUMX of S. Vicente linked to Art and Decoration.
«In order to encourage consumers to purchase their Christmas purchases at local shops, three Christmas baskets will be drawn for their customers», says the Vila do Bispo Chamber.
Thus, each person who makes purchases in the amount equal to or greater than 5 euros will be given a coupon to which they must attach the respective proof of purchase or stamp of the establishment, which will be deposited in a tombola in the cultural center of Vila do Bispo. The draw will take place during a get-together dinner between the contest participants.
The final results of the contest will be announced until the 9th of January 2017 on website of the City Council.
