The parade will travel around the city centre, from 15:30 pm, to the facilities of Única – Adega Cooperativa do Algarve, where there will be a social gathering and musical show, starting at 17:00 pm.

This parade aims to recreate and revive «traditions, customs, professions, knowledge, practices, tools and clothing from other times, whose memories are in danger of disappearing», says Câmara de Lagoa.

Even so, the purpose of the ethnographic parade is not to recreate the «Feast of the Agrarian Family». This was a traditional festival in Lagoa between the mid-twentieth century and the beginning of the 70s, which brought together the entire community around the devotion to Our Lady of Fátima and the pagan rituals of the May harvests, but «celebrating the social representation of the sectors of primary economic activities of the different parishes-parish, on a journey through the agricultural, fishing and industrial communities of the towns and places of the Municipality, including some already disappeared», adds the municipality.

This parade is also part of the Lagoa program “Cidade do Vinho 2016” which wants to “awake the region to wine tourism”, as well as “alert the importance that this niche may have, both for wine producers and for the wine industry itself. tourism», explains Luís Encarnação, councilor of the Câmara de Lagoa.

«As such, the most suitable place to receive the end of the Parade is the Única – Adega Cooperativa do Algarve, where many of these memories are perpetuated», concludes the Lagoon municipality.
