This Wednesday, the GNR captured a man who had escaped in March from Pinheiro da Cruz prison, in Grândola. Military personnel from this security force detained a 44-year-old man for dangerous driving and disobedience in Bensafrim, Lagos, later realizing that he had been escaped from prison.
To catch him, the GNR still had to chase him in a car, as the man did not obey the order to stop the military. The fugitive prisoner tried to escape in the direction of the Barragem da Bravura, but ended up losing his way and being detained "a few meters" from the place where he lost control of his vehicle.
In Pinheiro da Cruz prison, the man was serving a 14-year prison sentence for the crimes of theft and robbery using a firearm. Now, it has been delivered to the Silves Prison.
