The practice of physical activity was combined with a treasure hunt, in Olhão, on the 5th of October holiday. The first edition of the «Adventure Race – In Search of Lost Physical Fitness», a peddy paper promoted by the Gymnasium sports centre, mobilized dozens of people, who went to discover the stories and legends of the city of Olhão, while overcoming sporting challenges .
This event was joined by the «Cycle ao Sol Posto», in which more than five dozen people cycled for 3 hours to the sound of DJ James and animated by VJ Bobs, with the Ria Formosa in the background.
These events at the gymnasium based in Olhão (it also has a branch in Tavira) aimed at «providing all participants with a healthy interaction, the practice of sports, getting to know some of the cultural and historical roots of the city of Olhão, as well as the customs of its people,” according to the Gymnasium.
The socializing part was taken seriously and, in addition to what the two sporting events had already provided, there was space for a pyroshow and a party of colors «happy holi».
“This is another big winning bet. It is our goal to hold sporting events where we can combine sports practice with the city where we are located. The support of the local authority, the connection to the local business fabric and the participation of dozens of people prove that our bet is bearing fruit», considered Paula Caleça, responsible for the Promotion, Marketing and Events areas of the Gymnasium.
Those who were unable to attend this edition will have other opportunities, as the spokesperson for the sports center guarantees that «2017 will be a year of great proposals, great events, promotions and a series of activities and bets so that we can help put the practice of sport on a higher bar».
