Lieutenant Captain Conceição Duarte is the new captain of Porto de Lagos and local commander of the Maritime Police. The inauguration ceremony took place yesterday at the Captaincy of the Port of Lagos.
Conceição Duarte replaces the captain of the frigate Carvalho Pinto, who was in the position for three years.
The Head of the Maritime Department of the South and Regional Commander of the Maritime Police was presiding over the ceremony, and according to the Maritime Authority, "several representative entities of the Algarve region, including the mayor of the Municipality of Lagos", were also present.
After three years in office, Captain-de-frigate Carvalho Pinto was replaced by Captain-Lieutenant Conceição Duarte.
