oceanarium shuttleThe Oceanário Shuttle will park this Saturday next to Armação de Pêra Beach, in Silves, where it will provide, over a week, free playful and educational activities that explore the various professions related to the oceans and the sustainability of marine ecosystems.

From the 3rd to the 7th of September, this traveling environmental education project can be visited, in the bathing area of ​​Silves, between 10:00 and 13:00 and 14:30 and 18:00. On the 8th of September, the shuttle schedule will be from 10:00 am to 13:00 pm.

«Vakers, families or groups of ATL's will explore the diversity of goods and services that the oceans provide, as well as discover the value they have for the planet and for all of us. The sustainable consumption of fish and seafood is another of the topics covered, providing the public with practical and objective suggestions for, by changing their behavior, contribute to the sustainability of marine resources. They will also be able to participate in a quizz, which reveals the routine and professions of the Oceanário and makes known the role of aquariums in the conservation of marine ecosystems», according to Oceanário de Lisboa, responsible for the initiative.

The Shuttle also brings the Oceanário's mascot, Vasco, who will ask the younger ones for help, to know what profession to choose when he grows up. There are also trips through the Portuguese sea, in the company of King D. Carlos, where “the importance of different professions and the richness of marine ecosystems” is focused.

«Aiming to take the Oceanário's mission to the whole country and to provide an educational trip across the oceans, the Shuttle has already toured all the districts of Mainland Portugal and the Autonomous Regions, having visited 173 municipalities. In this action, taking place on Armação de Pêra beach, the Shuttle will reach the milestone of 200.000 participants in its activities, since the project began in 2005», according to the center for scientific dissemination in Lisbon. Until the 8th of September, he is in Armação de Pêra.
