hook fishing boatA hooker fishing vessel, which had been operating illegally without the tracking equipment connected, was fined and the fish returned to the sea, as part of a surveillance operation carried out on the 14th, by the commands of the Maritime Police of Vila Real Santo António and Tavira, in conjunction with the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

According to the Maritime Authority, an administrative offense was issued to the vessel, while the fish seized, because it was alive, was returned to its natural habitat.

The fishing boat was sent to the port of Vila Real de Santo António.
