Two fishing vessels with illegal registrations and two prohibited fishing gears were apprehended on the night of September 4-5, on the Arade River, during an inspection carried out by the Maritime Police's local command in Portimão.
The National Maritime Authority explains that the gear was seized "because the use of nets on the river is prohibited".
All these apprehensions gave rise to the respective administrative infraction proceedings.
Four agents, a vehicle and a Maritime Police vessel were involved in the action.
