Students from schools in São Brás de Alportel will find some improvements in the educational establishments they attend when they return to school. The São Paulo City Council took advantage of the summer holidays to make interventions in five primary schools in the municipality and in the EB 1 Poeta Bernardo de Passos, works that will all be completed before the start of the school year.
In addition to interventions in educational establishments, the autarchy made progress towards the creation of accessible crossings at two schools. Since Wednesday, crosswalks have been installed next to basic schools EB 1 n.º 1 and EB 1 n. 2 in São Brás, a project that is part of the “São Brás Accessible for All” Plan.
«This intervention foresees to guarantee better access for all people with reduced mobility and, at the same time, to provide more safety for those who travel on public roads, as it requires a reduction in the speed of vehicles that circulate near these establishments. The work began this Wednesday and should be completed before the start of the new school year», according to the City Council of São Brás de Alportel.
As for the schools themselves, at Bernardo de Passos an investment was made in the acquisition of a new stove, which will help prepare the approximately 300 meals that are served there daily. Small works were also carried out outside the school.
EB1 nº1 São Brás was another of the establishments intervened. In addition to painting the building and adjacent structures, an investment was made in supporting furniture.
The EB 1 JI elementary school received a new water heater and in the EB 1 elementary schools in Alportel, Mesquita and Vilarinhos, some material or equipment was replaced.
