Best Students Award 2015_2016The City Council of São Brás de Alportel will reward the six best finalist students of the José Belchior Viegas School Group with a trip to Berlin, which began yesterday and continues until Friday, 9 September.

With this initiative, the City Council «intends to reward the commitment and effort of these young people who worked hard during the school year to achieve excellent results».

The awarded students are Filipe Guerreiro Cavaco and Marta Lopes Scotto, finalists of the 2nd cycle of basic education, Rui Pires Martins and Lucy Ellen Gibson, finalists of the 3rd cycle, and Tânia Martins and Filipa Vargues Dias, of secondary education, indicated by the Schools Group , according to its Value and Excellence Framework.

«In Berlin, a city that was divided by a wall during the period of World War II, the awarded students will be able to visit the Brandenburg Gate, symbol of German unity, the German Parliament “Reichstag”, the famous “Checkpoint Charlie”, the Berlin Wall, which left its marks throughout the city, and Potsdam, a city with a strong historical legacy and numerous buildings declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO», concludes the City Council of São Brás.
