Seven people, between 21 and 23 years of age, were detained in an operation to inspect the sale of counterfeit clothing and fashion accessories carried out on Friday night by PSP, in the riverside area of Portimão.
According to Correio da Manhã, the inspection had 56 elements from the PSP, with the collaboration of eight from the Maritime Police and three from the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF).
The raid, which caused some apprehension among the hundreds of tourists and vacationers circulating in the Portimão riverside area at that time, resulted in the seizure of more than 600 counterfeit items, especially suitcases, wallets, clothing and glasses.
The sellers – three Portuguese and four foreigners – did not have any supporting documents about the place or companies from which they had acquired the items they were selling on the public highway.
Two of the sellers, foreigners, were also notified by the SEF for voluntary abandonment of national territory.
