2016 sea lagoon test (2)201 athletes participated in the 14th Lagoa Swimming Sea Trial, which took place in Praia Grande, Ferragudo, on Saturday, August 13th. The event was part of the 24th Circuito de Mar do Algarve and included the 7th Meeting of Disclosure Evidence.

In the competition participated swimmers from 24 clubs from various areas of Portugal, France, England, Spain and Holland.

2016 sea lagoon test (1)In Men, Rafael Gil was the winner, followed by Tiago Campos (Scalabiswim) and Diogo Cardoso (ADRCIMM). Already in Females, the English swimmer Kelly Jeffry was in first place, followed by Bruna Riesenberger (CIRL) and Ana Santo (SLB).

By teams, the winner was Portinado, followed by Lagoa AC and FC Ferreiras.

In the Men's Disclosure Test, the first three were Bruno Fernandes, José Neves and Marcus Cook. In Females, the winner was Beatriz Carvalho, followed by Sofia Barbado and Inês Alves.

This year, the event had a surprise activity – the unprecedented presentation of synchronized swimming in open waters, performed by “SincroSouthMermaids” – which, according to Câmara de Lagoa, «created a very pleasant environment among beach users».

The 14th Lagoa Swimming Sea Trial was organized by the City Council together with the Lagoa Académico Clube and had the support of the Algarve Swimming Association and the Portuguese Sports and Youth Institute.
