end cevThe approximately eight dozen riders present at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve to compete in the sixth race of the FIM CEV 2016 completed the second day of free practice today. Teams and riders took the opportunity to continue preparing for the final stage of the season, after a long break of almost two months.

In what is the third consecutive season in which the FIM CEV has a race at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, all titles are still open, highlighting the Moto3 Junior World Championship, where he leads Lorenzo Dalla Porta, with a lead of 36 points over your most direct opponent.

Lorenzo was recently hired by Sky VR46, to take the place of Romano Fenati in the Moto3 World Championship, so he may even be unable to discuss the title in the category.

With a clear advantage over opponents is the South African Steven Odendaal. Also with world experience, the AGR rider has a 48-point advantage in the Moto2 European Championship, and it will be enough for him to leave Portimão with two more points against Alan Techer, second in the table, to secure the final title, even with two races. on the calendar after the Algarve round.

On the Superbike, it will certainly be the duel between Carmelo Morales and Max Scheib that will liven up the weekend and the two races in the class.

Yamaha's Spaniard Laglisse is just seven points ahead of the Chilean's BMW Targobank and the South American's regularity has been worth prominence in the season, which started in the worst way for Morales, when he was forced to retire in the first race of the year.

In a weekend where Santi Barragán will not be present, due to injury, Alejandro Medina will also be able to help shuffle the bills in the class reserved for the biggest displacement bikes in this championship.

Note also for the two Portuguese who will be on track, Tiago Magalhães and Ivo Lopes. Tiago is currently ranked third among privateers present in the Superbike, while Ivo Lopes leads even among the Superstock 600, which race together with the Moto2.

Both want to make the most of their superior knowledge of the Algarve route to sign important installments.

After these two days of preparation and return to activity after the summer break, the FIM CEV drivers will carry out tomorrow's timed practice sessions – two for each class – which will define the starting grids for the five races scheduled for the day of Sunday.

The higher temperatures forecast for tomorrow and also for the following day could be an extra adversary for the whole caravan, which today faced the more than four kilometers of the Algarve International Autodrome with equally hot temperatures, but with a slight cloud cover and a light breeze to help cool the riders a bit.
