A fire in a wooded area in Perna Seca, in São Bartolomeu de Messines, which broke out this afternoon at around 15 pm, is being fought by 00 workers, 199 vehicles and 42 air vehicles.

Source of the District Relief Operations Command told the Sul Informação that the fire has two active fronts and, in addition to firefighters from the Algarve, two brigades from the district of Beja are also helping to fight the flames.

According to the same source, "there are no homes at risk".

The column of smoke is visible from many kilometers away.
