According to the company, this is a «slight growth», of around 3%, compared to the values ​​registered in the same period of 2015, in which there were 26.361 adhesions.

This weekend prior to August is “the one in which it is expected that there will be the greatest number of entries by drivers of vehicles with foreign registration, especially our emigrants returning to Portugal for the enjoyment of well-deserved holidays”.

Aware of the large expected influx, Infraestruturas de Portugal reinforced its support to customers at the Easytoll system sales points, located near the border on the A22 (Vila Real Santo António), A24 (Chaves), A25 (Vilar Formoso) and A28 highways ( Viana do Castelo).

As a result of this reinforcement, and despite the large influx to the places of adhesion, the response of the system was «very positive, with no large waiting lines, even in times of greatest demand».

Saturday, July 30th, with 10.631, was the day with the highest volume of adhesions.

The A25 is the main entrance highway for emigrants on their return to Portugal, so it is “natural that it is precisely at the point of sale located on the border in Vilar Formoso that more than 50% of the total adhesions were registered, with 13.630 in these three days”.

Also noteworthy is the A24, another important entry for emigrants, with 33% of the total.

At all points of sale, the growth in the number of subscriptions was significant, demonstrating, according to the company Infraestruturas de Portugal, that «increasingly, Easytoll is known by tourists and emigrants who visit our country and travel in vehicles. foreign registration, and recognized as a convenient, simple and secure electronic toll payment system'.

Since the beginning of July, a total of 22 IP employees have been placed in the four Easytoll plazas (located on the A24, A25, A28 and A27), at the adhesion points, in order to inform and help customers.

These employees provide daily support between 08:00 am and 20:00 pm (with the exception of A28, where support is provided from Friday to Sunday), and their on-site function is to promote clarification and help in the quick adherence to the payment system and guaranteeing adequate circulation conditions and traffic flow at toll plazas.
