the heat continuesThe Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere foresees, from tomorrow, the 5th, and at least until the 9th of August, a new “significant rise in temperature, especially the maximum one”, which could reach between 32 and 42°C.

According to the IPMA, the rise is due to "a flow of hot, dry air, associated with a current from the eastern quadrant."

The ascent will take place in most of the territory, with the exception of the highest mountains where values will be below 30°C.

The minimum temperature should register values between 20 and 25°C throughout the country. The wind will generally be light, blowing temporarily from the northwest on the western coastal strip in the afternoon and from the southeast on the southern coast of the Algarve.

This hot weather episode will start in the interior regions, affecting the coastal regions from the 6th.
