image003The Traditional Festivals in Honor of Fishermen will liven up Santa Luzia, in the municipality of Tavira, between 12 and 15 August. Quim Barreiros, Diogo Piçarra, Raquel Tavares and Átoa are some of the artists who will work in the fishing village of Tavir.

 

 

According to the Santa Luzia Parish Council, “the high point of the festivities will be on Sunday, with the celebration of religious ceremonies that begin with the solemn mass. At the end of the afternoon, we also have the procession of the image of Santa Luzia, blessing the fishermen and their boats by the quay and the proclamation of the offerings to the Men of the Sea».

The sporting tradition is scheduled for Monday, with the Chata Race, the Rope Game, the Ribbon Tirada, the Pau de Sebo and the Boat Regattas.

As for music, «we have a very lively poster for all tastes and ages, with various styles of music, all of them sung in Portuguese. Átoa, Diogo Piçarra, Raquel Tavares and Quim Barreiros are our honored guests to whom we join DJ Kota, DJ Xdupe, Duo Som Ritmo, DJ Jinga, DJ Guz, Lurdes Caetano, Márcio Gonçalves, André Catarino, Uzananas and Cristiano Martins». advances the Santaluzian Parish Council.

The venue for the shows has a Bar/Restaurant and, at the end of the parties, there will be a fireworks show.
