The Fortress of Sagres will host the last of the “Concerts at Sunset” on the 24th of July, at 18:00. Old Jerusalem is the project that ends this cycle in 2016.

Old Jerusalem, a project by musician/author/performer Francisco Silva, will present in concert his latest work “A rose is a rose is a rose”. This work is, according to the Regional Directorate of Culture, «a place of intimate, tranquil landscapes, of subtle introspection, revealing an aesthetic and sound cohesion, where the matrices continue to be those of American folk».

In “A rose is a rose is a rose”, Old Jerusalem resumes the collaboration of other musicians, among them Filipe Melo, responsible for the piano and string arrangements of the album and a «true accomplice in the delineation of the aesthetic direction of the work, the that the usual collaborations and those of new musicians, voices and technicians were added», adds the organization.

Old Jerusalem started activity in mid 2001, releasing its debut album “April” in 2013. Since then it has maintained a level of regular activity, including concerts, editing new records and collaborations with other artists, not only as a musician/performer (The Unplayable Sofa Guitar, Green Machine, The Neon Road, among others), but also as an author, having developed in this title work with artists as diverse as Carlos Bica, Bernardo Sassetti, Alla Polacca, Mandrágora or Kubik.

“Concertos ao Entardecer” is a project by ArQuente Associação Cultural extended to Fortaleza de Sagres in the cycle “Música no DiVaM” of the DiVaM-Dynamization and Valorization of Monuments program, promoted by the Regional Directorate of Culture.
