The Lagos Food Fest will return to Jardim da Constitution, in Lagos, from the 15th to the 17th of July, between noon and midnight. The “street food” event will bring together 29 brands, almost doubling the number of exhibitors at its first edition last year.
According to the organization, the first edition of the event received around 18 thousand visitors over the three days of the event and, this year, the promise is “more and better”.
Maria Nobre de Carvalho, who organizes the event, in partnership with the Câmara de Lagos, explains that «this event shows the act of eating without the usual fork and knife, being by hand and, in most cases, standing up, walking or on a street bench where you can eat the typical “street food” delicacies. The purpose is to merge the innovative and increasingly sought after types of outdoor service, in a practical and quick way, in a single space (the Jardim da Constitution, in Lagos)».
Vans, motorbikes, bicycles and classic “vans” will be the selling points of the food, and there will be dishes “from Mexican to the typical Portuguese nail”, in addition to juices, ice creams or cocktails.
Among the brands already confirmed are FreshRootz, Caipijocas, Tacos and Tapiocas, Maria do Mar, Trinkaki, Miss Vinagreta, Vai à Fava, Tripa on Wheels, or Little Kitchen Co.
The Festival has the support of Doca Pesca, which will carry out three “show-cookings” (one on each day of the event), followed by tasting by the School of Hotel and Tourism of the Algarve.
The company MemoryBox will also be present with a “photobooth” and, throughout the day, there will be music from Sagres FM. Evenings and evenings will be animated by guest DJ's.
