Jose CidThe Al-Buhera Festival opened yesterday, at Praça dos Pescadores, in Albufeira, with a concert by José Cid, preceded by the local group José Praia e Aquaviva. Today, the music will be in charge of the Algarve Viviane.

For the weekend, a lot of entertainment is promised for this festival with a 100% national poster. Big names from today's music scene, such as Diogo Piçarra, Richie Campbell and Dengaz & Ahya Band, will pass on stage. But there will also be a place for local artists, such as the band Al'Mouraria, Beto Kalulu and Compotas and the traditional Banda Alhada.

But Al-Buhera is also an exhibition of handicrafts and gastronomy, with special emphasis on sweets. Unique pieces made by the hands of local artisans, from embroidery to jewelry, through sculpture or painting, are on display at very attractive prices. In total, there are more than 60 exhibitors exhibiting the arts and crafts of the people of Albufeira.

Yesterday, the president of the Chamber, accompanied by members of the executive, visited all the exhibitors, giving them certificates of participation.

“This is one of the events that has lasted on the Municipality's calendar due to its strong cultural nature, which promotes the best that is done in Albufeira, Algarve and Portugal, both in terms of crafts and music”, said Carlos Silva and Sousa.

In terms of music, this Thursday Viviane is on stage, with the Al-Buhera Group preceding the main performance.

On the 29th (Friday) the Al-Mouraria are the first to step onto the stage, followed by the performance of the main artist Diogo Piçarra.

On the 30th (Saturday), the show promises to heat up with the hot rhythms of Jamaica in the voice of the greatest national Reggae singer Richie Campbel, following the performance of Beto Kalulu & os Compotas.

On the 31st (Sunday), the last day of Al-Buhera, Banda Alhada and Dengaz & Ahya Band will close the program.
