here_ha_sardinesO Sardine Festival, which returns to Portimão between the 3rd and the 7th of August, presents itself this year with two great news: the “Here there Sardinha!”, an insignia that the traditional restaurants of Sardinha Assada will display, and the “Sardinha & Companhia”, which intends to make known the existing alternatives in the confection of Sardines.

These two new Festival products are the result of a partnership between traditional restaurants and local establishments with the Municipality of Portimão and allowed the 2016 edition to have a record number of 28 participating establishments.

Each of these participants contributed a symbolic amount, which will be paid directly to local artists and cultural associations, which will ensure the animation of the street and the surrounding space, in a joint effort that aims to integrate, involve and dynamize the entire downtown and riverside area of the city. .

For lovers of succulent Roasted Sardines, and under the motto “Here there are sardines!”, those who visit the Festival between August 3rd and 7th can enjoy the beautiful roasted sardine with boiled potato and the traditional Algarve salad in one of the 13 Official restaurants: À Ravessa, Casa Bica, Dona Barca, Forte e Feio, KiBom, Mané, O Pipo, Peixarada, Retiro do Peixe Roast, Taberna da Maré, Trinca Espinhas, Ú Venâncio and Zizá.

Sardine no Pão has remained and promises to fill the riverside area of Portimão with the most traditional and characteristic aroma of grilled sardines.

It will take place, like last year, next to the old auction and will be made and sold at GEJUPCE and Boa Esperança points. For those who less appreciate grilled sardines, the regional appetizer menus will continue to be an option in the exhibitors' area.
