Octopus_staluziaHave you ever tasted or even heard of octopus confit in sweet potato bed and grout of red peppers? because the Head Jorge Rodrigues and nutritionist Laura Silvestre (from the Public Health Unit of Tavira), are responsible for a cooking demonstration scheduled for Saturday, July 16, at 10:30 am, at the Municipal Museum of Tavira – Palácio da Galeria.

In addition to making known how these dishes are cooked, the initiative also aims to show the nutritional component of food. The demonstration is part of the “Mediterranean Diet All Year” program.

The activity, aimed at a maximum number of 20 participants, has the collaboration of the Regional Health Administration of the Algarve, through the Sotavento Health Centers Group. Registration is mandatory and subject to confirmation by the Municipal Museum.

“Mediterranean Diet All Year” is a program of activities to safeguard the Mediterranean Diet that aims to promote the multiple dimensions of the Mediterranean lifestyle and cultural landscape, based on its cyclical nature.

The program includes tours of interpretation of the territory, demonstrations and workshops on Mediterranean know-how.

The initiatives are promoted by the Municipality of Tavira and rely on the collaboration of local inhabitants and partnerships with other institutions, integrating empirical and scientific knowledge.
