Márcio Peralta1Márcio Peralta and Celina Carpinteiro, BTT Loulé/BPI athletes, won this Sunday, champion and vice-champion, in their categories, in the National Olympic Cross Country Championships (XCO), which took place at Jamor.

Márcio Peralta became national champion, in cadets, while Celina cut the goal in second place, in the Elite female category.

One of the top names in the female panorama of this sport, Celina Carpiteiro reached the goal 3m38s after Joana Monteiro, the big winner of the Elite female category.

The third place, at 7m32s, was Tânia Neves, from Clube BTT de Águeda/BlackJack.

Márcio Peralta, in turn, did not give the competition a chance and became national champion in cadets. In the female category, won Raquel Queirós, from the ASC/Focus Team/Vila do Conde.

As regards queen proof, where the national men's champion was disputed, the winner was David Rosa, from Tropix, followed by Tiago Ferreira, from Team Protek. Both athletes will be present at the Olympic Games next August, in Rio de Janeiro. Mário Costa, from the ASC/Focus Team/Vila do Conde, closed the podium

With regard to the under-23 men, there was a change of position compared to last year. José Dias, from Seissa/MGB Bikes/Matias and Araújo/Frulact, second in 2015, became the national under-23 champion, relegating the former champion, Gonçalo Amado, from Maiatos/Reabnorte/BikeZone, to second place, at 2m03s. Kevin Oliveira was third, at 2s.

In the women's under-23s, Ana Tomás, from BTT Seia, was the strongest, winning the race with a 2m03s advantage over the second placed, Beatriz Guedes, from Escola BTT/MAC Junta Freguesia Moçarria, and with 4m47s over the third, Cláudia Costa, from Maiatos/Reabnorte/BikeZone.

In juniors, the victories belonged to João Rocha, from Rodabike/ACRG/Gondomar, and Marta Branco, from the ASC/Focus Team/Vila do Conde. Among the veterans, the titles of national champion were won by master 30 Rúben Nunes, of the ASC/Focus Team/Vila do Conde, master 40 Rui Torpes, master 50 António Silva, of ProRebordosa/Garrafeira Gomes/Oforsep, and master Ângela Gonçalves, from BTT Seia.

Finally, Ricardo Gomes, from Saertex Portugal/Edaetech, won among participants with hearing impairment. The collective title was won by the ASC/Focus Team/Vila do Conde team.
