In all, 26 athletes competed in the race, divided into 13 pairs. The event started on Saturday (16 July), at 14:00, with the teams evolving and discussing the qualification divided into three groups.
In a first phase, the five least quoted pairs in the ranking discussed access to qqualifying. The remaining eight top-ranked pairs began their participation then.
With the first six pairs qualified for the quarter-finals, the afternoon and the first day of the competition closed with a qualifying to clear the remaining two pairs.
The second and final day of the stage, on Sunday, started at 14:30 pm, with eight teams taking part in the quarter-finals. The duos made up of Bruno Xavier/Xande, Bruno Costa/Ricardo Freitas, Miguel Pita/Calita and Luis Brites/Hernâni Baptista qualified for the semi-finals and where Bruno Xavier/Xande and Miguel Pita/Calita, were stronger and qualified. himself for the deciding game.
