New Image Monterosa Olive Oil 2016Monterosa Picual extra virgin olive oil, produced in Moncarapacho, was considered the best Portuguese olive oil in the German extra virgin olive oil competition “Der Feinschmecker Olio Awards 2016”.

Monterosa Picual olive oil was in the Top 50 of the competition (44th place), and was the best of the Portuguese olive oils in the competition. However, among the Monterosa olive oils, there were two more winners: Monterosa Cobrançosa got the 99th place in the competition and Monterosa Maçanilha the 140th.

This year the panel of judges tasted approximately 800 oils and awarded 251 considered the best of 2016 to appear in the Guide "Der Feinschmecker Olio Awards".

These new awards join those already achieved in the first half of this year in New York and Los Angeles in the USA, Tokyo in Japan, Beijing in China and Cordoba in Spain.

According to Monterosa, «this succession of awards clearly demonstrates the sustainability of the quality and excellence of the product and its visibility and recognition at an international level».
