you arriveAlerting tourists who visit Albufeira to the risks of staying too close to the cliffs on the beaches of this county is the main objective of a campaign launched on Friday and which will pass in several bathing areas in Albufeira until the 26th of August, always between the 9:30 and 12:00.

The awareness campaign provides for the distribution of leaflets in Portuguese and English, intended to inform bathers about the main dangers associated with the cliffs and the best ways to prevent them.

“The objective is to promote knowledge of the risks and draw everyone's attention to the need to avoid staying in places considered unstable, respecting the signs that exist on the beaches. At the same time, bathers are advised to visit only supervised beaches», according to the Albufeira Town Council.

Albufeira has been promoting this type of campaigns for some years, in the months of July and August. The initiatives are promoted by the Municipal Civil Protection Service (SMPC) of Albufeira, with the support of the Maritime Authority, Maritime Police and the Association of Lifeguards of Albufeira (ANSA).

After being launched on the beaches of Inatel and Alemães, on the 1st of July, the campaign continues this Friday, with actions on the beaches of Pescadores and Peneco. This is followed by passage at Oura and Aveiros beaches (July 15th), Barranco das Belharucas, Falésia and Rocha Baixinha (July 22) beaches, São Rafael, Castelo, Coelha and Arrifes (July 29) beaches, Maria Luísa Beach (5th of August), beaches of Santa Eulália and Olhos de Água (12th of August), Praia dos Salgados (19th of August) and beaches of Galé, Evaristo and Manuel Lourenço (26th of August).
