The Blue Flag that will be flown tomorrow, in Portimão, to symbolically mark the beginning of the bathing season, will come from the bottom of the sea and will be handed over to the mayor by divers from the local Portisub club. This ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 am, at Praia do Vau.
As the municipality of Portimão explains, «this was the way that the City Council of Portimão chose to mark the beginning of the bathing season, emphasizing the importance that the diving sector has in the local economy, namely the Ocean Revival project – unique in Europe, and of a duly protected fauna and flora'.
Students from the Eco-Schools project implemented at Centro Escolar da Bemposta in collaboration with the Municipality of Portimão will be present on the occasion and will deliver a “surprise” alluding to the anniversary.
