Mathieu Lussiana (Custom)The start of the 1st shift of the Parkalgar Racing Team, at the 12 Hours of Portimão, did not go well: just minutes before the end of his first shift, the bike driven by Mathieu Lussiana ran out of gas and the Frenchman had to pull over. Result: the Portuguese team, which followed a comfortable 4th position, fell to last place, having lost three laps.

In boxing, the consternation was immense. When asked what happened, Paulo Pinheiro, director of the Algarvian team, who runs at home, just said: "the bike ran out of gas."

Meanwhile, the second round is already running at the Autódromo do Algarve, with Miguel Oliveira driving the Portuguese team's Yamaha R1. It is hoped that the experienced driver, who yesterday even managed to be the fastest in qualifying, will make up for some of the lost time. But along this long journey still many adventures will happen.

The 12 Hours of Portimão race started at 9:30 am this morning and will continue until 21:30 pm, without stopping, on the track of the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão. It is the second race of the FIM World Endurance Championship.

Emotions are running high, with the riders pushing hard throughout this endurance race on motorcycles, which will continue uninterrupted – it is hoped – until 21 pm, after sunset and therefore with renewed interest in being a race also at night.
