Miguel Oliveira and Miguel Praia with Yamaha R1_1The motorcycling teams that will compete in the Portuguese round of the World Endurance (Resistance) at the Autódromo do Algarve will parade this Wednesday, the 8th, in Portimão, in what is the first parade outside the official circuits.

The parade of 28 motorcycles and close to a hundred riders will take place from 17:30 pm, culminating with an autograph session, at the Municipal Theater of Portimão, in Jardim 1º de Dezembro, at 18:00 pm.

According to the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM), the event's organizing body, the parade is a world-first, since “it is the first time that teams and riders who compete in a World Championship in the sport, parade through the streets of a city ​​in contact with the public”.

“Don't miss the opportunity to see not only the machines up close but also to mingle with the motorcycling riders who these days will make a splash on our track!”, challenges, for its part, the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.

The Portuguese round, the second event of the FIM Endurance World Championship and the only one held in Portugal, is scheduled for June 10th and 11th, consisting of a 12-hour endurance race, scheduled to start at 09:30 am on Saturday .

The Portuguese drivers Miguel Oliveira and Miguel Praia and the Frenchman Matthieu Lussiana are part of the Parkalgar team, the only Portuguese team to compete in the race.

The Portuguese training believes that is able to fight for victory on the Algarve circuit, recognizing that «the difficulties are great, in a race that is very demanding physically and mentally».
