YART-800x533Miguel Oliveira, from the Portuguese team Parkalgar Racing, suffered a fall, which caused problems in his hand, during the morning of Thursday, in free practice for the 12 Hours of Portimão, second race of the World Endurance Championship (EWC) of motorcycling , which takes place on Saturday, from 9:30 am, at the Autódromo do Algarve.

Free practice was going well for Parkalgar, who got 4th place, but the home team was delayed by the crash involving the Portuguese star.

In the first official training session this afternoon, the Yamaha R1 of the YART Yamaha Official EWC Team, with Marvin Fritz, Ivan Silva and Broc Parkes, secured the provisional pole-position for the 12 Hours of Portimão

The Austrian team secured the fastest lap so far, with a 1'46,651s, and left the winners of the Le Mans 24 Hours, Gregory Leblanc, Fabien Foret and Matthieu Lagrive of Kawasaki SRC, at 0,152s.

The third time belongs to the GMT94 Yamaha, owned by David Checa, Lucas Mahias and Niccolò Canepa.

The Parkalgar Racing Team has now sixth time, 0,918s off the fastest. Matthieu Lussiana was the fastest, setting a time of 1m47,756s.

The Portuguese team still could not count on the contribution of Miguel Oliveira, who continues to receive medical treatment after the fall he suffered in free practice. His return is expected for the second qualifying session tomorrow morning.

Today there was also a night training session, between 20:00 and 21:30.

The 12 Hours of Portimão starts at 09:30 am on Saturday and ends at 21:30 pm on the same day.
