The repaving work on Rua Dr. José Alves Moreira, where the Castro Marim City Council building is located, was completed yesterday. This, which is the main artery of the county seat, will also receive work for the placement of speed reducers and vertical and horizontal signage.
The streets of Combatentes da Grande Guerra and 25 de Abril were also partially repaved and Largo da República was reclassified through the creation of a sidewalk area and the introduction of rainwater drainage. The cost of these works is estimated at around 70 thousand euros.
According to Castro Marim, «creating better mobility conditions and ensuring better circulation conditions and road safety for motorists were the main objectives of this requalification».
The municipality of Castro Marim adds that "it will soon move forward with the repaving works of streets in Junqueira, Monte Francisco, Rua 25 de Abril, in Castro Marim, and in the access to Quinta do Sobral."
