Rosalina Bernon, the European Commission representative on the Monitoring Committee of CRESC Alagrve2020 – Algarve Operational Programme, participated on Wednesday, May 25th, in Faro, in a visit that included presentations of Strategies to promote entrepreneurship and knowledge transfer for companies in the region in the period 2014-2020.

A desk officer Rosalina Bernon was received at the University of Algarve's Gambelas Campus by the vice-rector Ana Freitas and the president of CCDR Algarve David Santos, and learned about two examples of promising projects developed in startups, co-financed by European funds, from CRESC Algarve2020.

The visit's agenda included a presentation by CRIA – Algarve Regional Center for Innovation, which took stock of the situation, highlighting the support given to the creation of 80 sustainable jobs since 2005 and the promotion and intermediation of science-based activities , technological and economic and social enhancement, key elements of your business.

On site _ photo 3Then, the group went to São Brás de Alportel, where it visited Associação In Loco, the managing entity of one of the three CLLD (Local Community-Based Development) presented in the Algarve, as part of Portugal 2020.

The submitted application covers a territory designated as the Interior of the Central Algarve, comprising 18 parishes in the Municipalities of Albufeira, Silves, Loulé, Faro, São Brás de Alportel, Tavira and Olhão.

During the meeting, the president of CCDR Algarve revealed «that he estimates that the first Notices of the various types of support from European funds from the PO for CLLD should be in the streets by the end of June».

These visits are common practice during the annual Commission meeting, as a way of promoting direct contact with the results of the initiatives supported by the EU.

The Monitoring Committee of CRESC Algarve2020 met and approved, on May 24, the 2015 annual execution report, during its 6th meeting, which took place at CCDR Algarve, in Faro.
