Training and awareness actions, seminars, tactical demonstrations and innovative workshops will take place from May 26th to 29th, in Portimão, during Algarsafe'16, the International Civil Protection and Relief Fair in Portimão.
“Globalization of Civil Protection”, on May 26, “Security in International Tourist Destinations” and “Protection and relief in exceptional situations”, on May 28, and “How to lead operational in theaters of exception”, on 29 of May, are the topics under analysis in four seminars that will take place at Algarsafe'16, a unique opportunity for those who wish to strengthen their skills with renowned national experts.
On the 27th of May, the 29th APSEI Forum will take place, organized by APSEI – Portuguese Safety Association, which will have as panels “Challenges in the implementation of fire safety (SCI) in health units and nursing homes”, during the period of morning, and “Security in organizing events” in the afternoon.
But this, which is the largest fair of its kind to take place in the South of the Tagus, also features workshops, various training and awareness actions and practical demonstrations.
“B-Con – Bleeding Control”, “Emergency Elevations in agricultural and forestry tractors”, “First Aid for Animals”, “Control of Accidents with Hazardous Materials” and “Aquatic Intervention Techniques” are some of the workshops that will be carried out.
In the area of training and awareness-raising, the initiatives in “Basic Life Support”, “Use of Fire Extinguishers” and “Domestic Violence in Dating” stand out.
In addition to various practical demonstrations and technical sessions scheduled, the "Presentation of the Seismic Risk Simulator for the Algarve" by the National Civil Protection Authority (ANPC) will also take place at the fair, while the National School of Firefighters will promote the course on Safety Officer, unprecedented in the Algarve region, lasting 21 hours.
This national educational entity will present the new pediatric first aid manual, in a public session on May 28 at 11:00 am.
With dozens of confirmed public and private entities, including providers and suppliers of goods and services in the area of security and civil protection, as well as civil protection agents and cooperating entities of the integrated system of protection and relief operations at national level, Algarsafe' 16 «it intends to assume itself as the largest fair of its kind in the region, highlighting the enormous importance of security in the various domains of our society and especially in the Algarve as a tourist destination par excellence that, competing internationally with other destinations, needs to maintain capacity and a feeling of protection in relation to the thousands of visitors who annually choose Portimão».

On May 29, Algarsafe'16 dedicated the day to the Firefighters and Portimão will host the commemorations of the “National Firefighter Day”, waiting for the presence of Firefighters from all over the country for the protocol ceremonies of this event that honors the “ Portuguese Soldiers of Peace.
