Moçoilas Concert (Loulé 29-04-2016)The «Moçoilas» – now composed by the voices and energy of Margarida Guerreiro, Inês Rosa and Teresa da Silva – will give a concert on Saturday, May 28, at 21 pm, at the Ginásio Clube Farense, in Faro.

The «Moçoilas» interpret the songs of the South, in the voices of the women who return with Spring.

«If, for the first time, the Moçoilas were born from an enormous need to recover the corner of the Algarve, forgotten or hidden until then, in time… this time – 22 years later – three of them silent – the Moçoilas are reborn from the need to listen and to affirm those same sounds, in a panorama that has been missing”, explains its producer.

The public following these songs from the south, this cry that was released outwards, did not get tired in the multiple current networks, calling them, knocking on their doors, asking questions, from time to time, when they returned...

They are there again. Bringing the soul of the corners of the Serra (and the corners of the earth) and many other themes inspired there, in its tones, sounds and smells, in its outward voice that echoes and transports itself.

After a first welcoming concert at the Casa da Cultura of Loulé – which has been functioning as a geostrategic meeting center for this musical movement -, they are now performing in Faro, on May 28, at the Ginásio Clube Farense.

«Moçoilas is an attitude, it is a soul, felt from within, manifestly affirmative, joyful and feminine. It's a loose song with sweet, hard and simple harmonies», explains the producer.

The responsibility for ensuring this musical and cultural space now rests with Margarida Guerreiro – who bears witness since the beginning of this story -, Inês Rosa and Teresa da Silva. For the first time, the Moçoilas are just three.

This trio of women takes back many of the old themes and enriches them with their own energy, modifying some, appropriating others and paving the way for new melodies, new songs. Some songs inspired by mountain contexts are written by Teresa Muge, who no longer sings here, still enchanting.

«This third elliptical cycle re-equates and therefore reconstructs and evolves this group into another dimension that is simultaneously the same and different sound».

Teresa da Silva, Inês Rosa and Margarida Guerreiro, each bringing their own special journey, their essence, are in a very intertwined synergy and make the Moçoilas sound.
