The Bela Vista Stadium, in Parchal, hosted, last Sunday, May 15th, three competitions, two athletics and one football, which brought together more than 600 children.
The Youth Regional Championship and the Youth Olympic Regional Tournament, in athletics – organized by the Algarve Athletics Association, with the support of the Lagoa Council – brought together around 500 athletes, between 8 and 16 years old, from teams from all over the Algarve.
On the same day, in the afternoon, the final of the Liga Arade, in football, was held at the Petizes and Traquinas levels, which brought together about 120 children from 6 to 8 years old. According to the Câmara de Lagoa, the atmosphere was «of joy and authentic celebration, where there was no champion, as all teams were winners, given that the objective was fraternization, the implementation of affections and the sense of competition, as a psychophysiological function , objectives fully achieved».
The event was organized by the “Os Pongas” Football School, of the Bela Vista Academic Association and had the support of the Lagoa Council, which, in the final round, offered a snack to the participating children. At the end, the councilor for Sports, Luís Encarnação, who delivered the awards.
