Loule_poster_A3THE "8 ½ Italian Film Festival» returns to Loulé for the fourth time, from May 12th to 14th, at the Cine-Teatro Louletano, presenting some of the best productions of the seventh art in that country. In this edition, the highlight goes to the exhibition of the restored copy of Federico Fellini's masterpiece “8 ½” and the preview of the new Italian cult film “Lo Chiamavano Jeeg Robot”, by Gabriele Mainetti, a surprising mix between the superhero cinema and the typical Italian policeman.

In addition to the exhibition of some of the most interesting works of recent Italian cinematography, several parallel activities are offered to the public in Loulé.

In 2016, the 9th edition of the 8 ½ Italian Film Festival takes place, this year in 15 Portuguese cities and 9 cities in Portuguese-speaking countries Angola, Mozambique and Brazil.

The schedule at the Cine-Teatro Louletano begins on May 12th, at 21 pm, with the presentation of the film “Suburra”, by Stefano Sollima, followed on the 00th, also at 13 pm, with the acclaimed film “Lo chiamavano Jeeg Robot ”, by Gabriele Mainetti.

The party ends on May 14, with proposals for different formats and target audiences: at 15:30 pm there is a session for families (animation for children), with the film “Pinocchio”, by Enzo d'Aló, intended those older than 6 years. At 17:30 pm, a selection of short films will be presented with the generic title “Il Corto”, authored by several directors of the new wave.

Closing the 14th, at 20 pm, at the Cine-Teatro bar, one of the great news in the Italian Film Festival in Loulé: the presentation of the already legendary Cine-Jantar, a moment when the public more openly experiences the direct connection that exists between cinema and gastronomy. It will be a delicious aperitif for the last film of the Party, with the screening of the classic “Otto e mezzo”, by Federico Fellini, at 21:45 pm.

Tickets for each of the festival's films cost 3 euros, and registration for the cine-dintar has a value of 15 euros, with a maximum capacity of 25 people and mandatory advance booking via email: [email protected].

The value of the cine-dintar already includes access to Fellini's film, and the interested public can also just watch the aforementioned film without signing up for the dinner.

A Italian Film Festival is the most important event in Portugal dedicated to Italian cinema and culture, which began in Lisbon between March 30 and April 7, at Cinema São Jorge, at Cinema UCI – El Corte Inglés and at Cinemateca Portuguesa – Museum of Cinema , with 40 films, including nine national premieres, works in competition, short films, documentaries, children's programming, renowned guests and a programmatic space dedicated to Italian music, literature, culture and gastronomy.

Internationally, it takes place in Luanda (Angola), Maputo (Mozambique) and seven cities in Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Florianópolis, Brasília, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte and Porto Alegre.
