The 4th edition of the Exhibition and Contest of Scarecrows and Scarecrows takes place from June 1st to 12th, in Vila Nova de Milfontes, within the scope of Fei~Tur – National Sports and Nature Tourism Fair.
The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Odemira, with the support of businessmen and groups of schools, thus promoting the involvement of the population in the event and in the decoration of the village, with the construction of corsairs, scarecrows, matraphones and imaginary figures.
The scarecrows must be made by the participants, individually or in groups, and must obey a minimum height of 1,5 meters in height, and the materials used are free to choose. For the evaluation of the works, the jury will take into account the innovation and use of recycled materials.
The scarecrows must be exhibited between the 1st and 12th of June, in various public spaces and shop windows in Vila Nova de Milfontes.
Until June 2, participants must send a photograph with the identification of the work to the email [email protected], so that it can be published on the facebook page: https://pt-pt.facebook.com/vivermilfontes.
The jury for the 4th edition of the Exhibition and Contest of Scarecrows and Scarecrows is composed of a representative of the Parish Council of Vila Nova de Milfontes, Sopa dos Artists Association, Horizontal Grouping of Schools of Vila Nova de Milfontes, Colégio Nossa Senhora da Graça and Colégio Lápis de Cor and an element of the population or entrepreneur.
The awards ceremony will take place during the National Sports and Nature Tourism Fair, on June 12, at 16 pm, at the Best Beaches Tent.
